Met de „Steady“ een fantastische zeilweek gehad in Schotland van 20 tot 26 mei 2019. Het was een beetje fris en het weer had een wat wisselend karakter, maar er kon prima worden gezeild zodat ook de passagiers/bemanning lekker aan het werk konden. De verzorging door gastvrouw Mariëlle en gastheer Jan Willem was uitstekend en met de overige passagiers (Duits en Engels) was het heel gezellig. Zoals wij het beleefd hebben, een echte aanrader! Jan-Willem and Marielle were very welcoming which was important to me as a solo traveller and first-time sailor!

We had some great walks on the beautiful islands of Muck, Rum, Eigg and Mull. The food on board The Steady was excellent and

as a Vegetarian I was very well catered for. There were some good books on board with information about the islands.

I enjoyed the company of some lovely shipmates.

I would definitely try this kind of holiday again.”

Excellent hosts. Both Marielle and Jan-Willem could not have done more for us. Sailing was very good and safe and everyone was able to get involved – all food was fantastic , especially sourcing local ingredient .

We could not have asked for better hosts. They were very welcoming , and were a delight to share our holiday with. Both excellent sailors, Jan Willem keen for us to get involved and a good teacher, and Marielle’s meals were just so good.

They even managed to arrange for sunshine ☀️, dolphins 🐬 and even a minky whale for a few seconds………….As a group we all agreed that we would definitely sail again on “Steady”. As we were a small group that have known each other for years, the dynamics on board were very relaxing and we would probably look for a similar experience.”

“It was a really great holiday. The weather meant that we were not able to do the original itinerary because of high winds but Jan-Willem and Marielle quickly found excellent alternatives with superb walks on Lismore and Kerera. Just one walk was probably a little long. The combination of sailing and walking worked very well. Marielle’s cooking was exceptional -tasty and imaginative. I’d never slept overnight on a small boat before and was surprised how comfortable it was. I can’t think how the holiday could have been improved. There weren’t even any midges (or not to speak of!)”
