Schotland, the ultimate hikers’ and sailors’ paradise! Do you want to see Scotland at its most beautiful and enjoy hikes and sailing in the stunning green nature?

During this trek we sail to islands in the Inner Hebrides with stunning hiking trails!

DAY 1 – OBAN

On the first day we expect you on board around 17:00 o’clock. After getting to know each other you can go you your bunks and around 19:00 o’clock there’s a shared diner. Afterwards you will be informed about the upcoming travel.

DAY 2 – SAILING DAY TO LISMORE

After breakfast it’s time to set sail! On this day we sail to Lismore, an island in the Inner Hebrides, situated in Loch Linnhe, northeast of Mull. The island was a Keltic Christian centre during the early middle ages due to an abbey founded by Saint Moluag. In the afternoon there’s time to visit the island.

DAY 3 – HIKE ON LISMORE | 15KM | 4-4.5 HOURS

DAY 4 – SAILING DAY TO TOBERMORY, ISLE OF MULL

On this day we sail from Lismore to Tobermory. Tobermory is a colourful town where there’s a lot to experience. Nice pubs, and shops to enjoy which you have plenty of time for in the late afternoon.

DAY 5 – HIKE ON MULL 18KM | 5-7 HOURS

We get dropped off to the early morning by taxi at the start of the hike. It is the longest hike of this week.

DAY 6 – SAILING DAY TO KERRERA

We leave Tobermory and set sail for the beautiful green paradise Kerrera. Along the way we stop at Duart castle, on Mull for lunch and a visit to the castle.

DAY 7 – HIKE ON KERRERA || 11km | 3.5 – 4.5 HOURS

During the hike we have a lunch stop at the Tea garden and we visit Gylen Castle.

DAY 8 – OBAN

After breakfast we lift the anchor and sail about an hour back to Oban. After an active week in which you have enjoyed the beautiful green and water-rich surroundings we say our goodbyes at 11:00 o’clock.

This journey description is meant to give you an impression of how the journey could look. Weather conditions are however a big influence in this area. Therefor the travel-plan can get changed.

Maximum number of guests:

There is space for a maximum of 6 guests.

The crew will be either 3 of 4 people

For whom is this journey suitable?

  • You are over 16 years old
  • Are you over 70 years old? Please contact us first.
  • You have a good stamina and mobility
  • Some sailing experience (for the journeys within Scotland sailing experience is not needed)
  • You enjoy night-sailing.

What language is spoken on board?

We are sailing with an international group of people. The crew is Dutch and speaks English and German. The main language on deck will be English when there are multiple nationalities on board.

Paying the journey-fee

The boarding-price will be paid in 2 terms*:

25%: Two weeks after the reservation

75%: one month before the start of the trip.

*If the reservation is made within 6 weeks prior to departure the boarding price will be charged in 1 term.

The board cash will be paid in 1 term in cash on the 1st day of the journey.

Trees are of vital importance to a healthy climate!

We are glad to make Steady Sailing greener. For each guest that books a journey with us we will get a tree planted at the end of the sailing season. For this we will pick a forestry project in the Netherlands.

Not included:

  • Travel to and from the ship.
  • Personal expenses
  • Soda’s and alcoholic drinks on board
  • possible extra tickets and entry fees
  • Travel- and/or cancellation-insurance

How do I get to Oban?

There are multiple daily KLM fights from Schiphol to Glasgow and Edinburgh, from there you travel to Oban by bus or train. Elaborate travel info about Scotland you can find here.
