DAY 1 – GREENOCK
On the 1st day, we will welcome you on board at 2pm in Greenock harbour. From Glasgow airport, you will reach Greenock by train or bus in about 45 minutes. While enjoying coffee/tea with a treat, we will get to know each other and the ship. We leave Greenock that same afternoon and sail to a nice anchorage where we will also spend the night. After dinner together, you will be further briefed on the upcoming voyage.
DAY 2 – ARRAN
This day we sail in the Firth of Clyde around the Isle of Arran. On Isle of Arran, you’ll find a bit of everything you’d want from a Scottish island. Arran has a varied coastline, there are dramatic mountain peaks, sheltered beaches, green forests, cultural festivals and lots of local delicacies. A great day to get to know each other and ship better, all from the comfort and catering of Steady!
DAY 3 – MULL OF KINTYRE, CAMPBELTOWN
We stay in the Firth of Clyde for 1 more day, sailing from the Isle of Arran to Campbeltown – a town on the Kintyre peninsula in south-west Scotland. This port town of just under 5,000 people is known, among other things, for Campbeltown single malt whiskies.
DAY 4 – RATHLIN
Just six miles off the northern coast of Northern Ireland, this Irish island is home to one of the UK’s largest seabird colonies, including hundreds of puffins. During summer, the puffins share the cliffs near the island’s western lighthouse with thousands of other seabirds, from kittiwakes to petrels, but they are undoubtedly the star of the show.
DAY 5 – ISLAY
From Rathlin Island, we continue our journey to the beautiful Scottish islands. We sail to Islay where we pass famous whisky distilleries along the coast and spend the night at Ardbeg. You are very spectacularly situated here among stunning rock formations and lots of seals.
DAY 6 – GIGHA
West of Kintyre lies a beautiful island of Gigha. This tiny southernmost island of the Inner Hebrides is fascinating – with sandy beaches and clear turquoise waters, stunning views and sunsets, and many archaeological and historical sites to explore.
DAY 7 – JURA
Jura, once the hideout for George Orwell to complete his famous 1984, has only 200 inhabitants, massively outnumbered by its wild deer population which has been counted at approximately 5000.
DAY 8 – CRINAN
We sail to the small town of Crinan on the west coast. Here you can enjoy a stroll along the Crinan Canal.
DAY 9 – KERRERA
On this last day of sailing we sail to the green paradise of Kerrera. On arrival there is an opportunity to visit the island by dinghy to stretch your legs. We end the evening together over the captains’ dinner.
DAY 10 – OBAN
The next day after breakfast we sail back to Oban. After an active 10 days enjoying the beautiful green and watery surroundings, we say goodbye at 10 am.
