Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Welcome aboard!
Your adventure begins at 17:00 in Oban, where Steady awaits at the North Pier. Just a short walk from the train station, it’s the perfect starting point. After meeting your fellow travellers and exploring the ship, we’ll share a delicious dinner together. Over a toast, we’ll talk you through the journey ahead, setting the tone for an incredible week.

Day 2 – Discover the “Great Garden” of Lismore
“Lios Mor,” Gaelic for “the great garden,” perfectly captures the essence of this lush island guarding the entrance to the Sound of Mull. We’ll hike its rolling hills and rocky coastline, soaking up panoramic views of Argyll, Ardnamurchan, and Mull. After a picnic lunch surrounded by nature, we’ll sail further into Loch Linnhe and spend a peaceful night anchored in Loch A Choire.

Day 3 – Wildlife and Waterfalls
Start your day with a refreshing hike through Kingairloch’s pine forests and hills. Along the way, keep an eye out for otters, dippers, and maybe even majestic birds of prey. A detour to the Ghardaig waterfall adds a touch of magic. Back aboard, relax as we sail through the Sound of Mull, ending the day with a hearty meal under the stars.

Day 4 – Charming Tobermory
Today, we sail to Tobermory, the postcard-perfect harbour town of Mull. After a leisurely lunch, we’ll explore Aros Park, hiking along the coast past waterfalls and a lily-covered loch. Later, you’ll have time to wander the colourful streets of Tobermory or join an optional walk to the lighthouse for sweeping views of the sea.

Day 5 – Muck’s Hidden Treasures
Tiny but packed with charm, Muck is a walker’s paradise. This pint-sized gem of the Small Isles offers sandy beaches, rugged coastlines, and fertile fields. We’ll hike its tranquil trails, then treat ourselves to a visit to the island’s famous tearoom for homemade cakes. Keep your camera ready—Muck’s bay is home to playful seals, a heartwarming end to the day.

Day 6 – Relax in Loch Aline
After a relaxing sail, we’ll anchor in Loch Aline, a peaceful spot on Scotland’s west coast. Here, we’ll take the dinghy ashore to visit the serene Ardtornish gardens, a hidden gem that invites you to pause and breathe in the beauty of nature. Back aboard, enjoy another delicious dinner as the sun sets.

Day 7 – Kerrera and the Captain’s Dinner
On our final full day, we head to Kerrera, an island known for its peaceful ambiance and stunning walking trails. The coastal views from its paths are simply breathtaking. After our hike, we’ll gather for a festive Captain’s Dinner aboard Steady, sharing laughs and memories of the week’s adventures.

Day 8 – Farewell in Oban
After a hearty breakfast, we set sail for Oban, arriving at the marina by 10:00. With new friendships and unforgettable memories, it’s time to say goodbye to this incredible journey—but the spirit of the Hebrides will stay with you long after you leave.

Nature Sets the Course: The Hebrides are as unpredictable as they are beautiful, and every journey is unique. While the itinerary offers inspiration, we adapt our route to suit the weather, ensuring your safety and adding a dash of spontaneity to your adventure.”

Are you ready to experience the magic of the Hebrides? Let’s make it unforgettable!

Wildlife

Sailing with Steady promises amazing wildlife encounters. You’ll often see seabirds like puffins, razorbills and guillemots, while sea eagles soar majestically along the rugged coastline. On land, keep an eye out for red deer, and with a bit of luck, you might spot an otter in the bay. The seabird colonies, especially during the breeding season, create a cacophony of sounds that echo off the cliffs. As we sail through Scottish waters, you may also spot seals curiously poking their heads above the water or sunbathing on rocks.

Dolphins are frequent visitors, with common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, and white-beaked dolphins often playing alongside the boat. Occasionally, we spot Risso’s or white-sided dolphins, and Minke whales are common. On rare days, you might even see humpback whales. The real stars of the show, however, are the local pod of orcas — an unforgettable experience if you’re lucky enough to see them. Make sure to keep your binoculars handy!
