02 – 11 OCTOBER 2021 | 10 DAYS |

Sail Steady to her home port of Hoorn! During this journey we continue during a number of nights and you take part fully as a crewmember in the watch system, of course assisted by our main crew. An adventurous exciting sailing trip in which you are active with the sailing manoeuvres, steering, watchkeeping and navigation. We sail from Brixham to Hoorn with stops on the Isle of Wight and River Orwell.

Day 1 – Boarding in Brixham

On the first day we expect you on board around 17:00 o’clock in Brixam. After getting to know each other you can go you your bunks and around 19:00 o’clock there’s a shared diner. Afterwards you will be informed about the upcoming travel.

Day 2 and 3 – Isle of Wight

Distance 100 nautical mile

We sail from Brixham to Isle of wight via the Solent. The Solent is the strait that separates the island Wight from England. The Solent is the cradle of the English aquatics. It is characterised by the countless sailing centres where some train on an Olympic level.

The west entrance is characterised by the needles, a beautiful rock formation at the entrance.

Besides plenty of anchor spots there are many harbours with a typical classic look. The water is clear and light green due to the chalk-like bottom, which asks to be dived into. The nautical challenge is anticipating on shallow spots with crosscurrents, sector-lights, and big shipping. The typical tide around the Island Wight decides our travel plan.

Day 4 – Isle of Wight

We stay for a day on the island to give you the opportunity to do some sightseeing.

Day 5 and 6 – River Orwell, Ipswich

Distance: 160 Nautical miles

When you approach the River Orwell a visit the pub “the Butt and Oyster” at Pin Mall is a must. Before we start the crossing to the Netherlands, we make a stop here.

Day 7 and 8 Amsterdam

Distance 150 Nautical mile

North-see crossing to the Netherlands

Day 9 Hoorn

Our last Sailing day across the Markermeer to our home port of Hoorn.

Day 10 Shipping out

Unfortunately, this beautiful trip has come to an end. On this last day we say our goodbyes after breakfast.
