DAY 1 – BELFAST
On Wednesday 8 May at 2 pm your adventure starts! After sharing cabins and getting to know each other, we will sail out of Belfast Lough and spend the night at a sheltered anchorage.
DAY 2 – RATHLIN
The next day we sail the 45 miles to Rathlin Island. This Irish island, just six miles off the northern coast of Northern Ireland, is home to one of the UK’s largest seabird colonies, including hundreds of puffins. During summer, the puffins share the cliffs near the island’s western lighthouse with thousands of other seabirds, from kittiwakes to petrels, but they are undoubtedly the star of the show.
DAY 3 AND 4 – ISLAY
From Rathlin Island, we continue our journey to the beautiful Scottish islands. We sail to Islay where we pass well-known whisky distilleries along the coast and spend the night at Ardbeg. You are very spectacular here between stunning rock formations and lots of seals. The 4th day we stay on Islay to explore the island and whisky lovers can visit one of the many distilleries!
DAY 5 – JURA
Off the west coast of Scotland lies Jura, an island belonging to the Inner Hebrides. On Jura are only 190 residents (and 6,000 deer). You go there for the nature, and for the whisky because the distillery is the beating heart of the island. And did you know that George Orwell wrote his famous book 1984 here?
DAY 6 – CRINAN
We sail to the small town of Crinan on the west coast. Here you can enjoy a stroll along the Crinan Canal.
DAY 7 – KERRERA
On this last day of sailing we sail to the green paradise of Kerrera. On arrival there is an opportunity to make a walk on the Isle. We end the evening together over the captains’ dinner.
DAY 8 – OBAN
The next day after breakfast, we sail back to Oban. After an active 8 days enjoying the beautiful green and watery surroundings, we say goodbye around 10am.
NB: The above schedule depends on weather, wind and tide, if necessary we deviate from it.
